Message from the President

We have an exciting program and a first-class venue for the 17th World Congress on Pain, and I warmly invite you to attend. The Scientific Program Committee has assembled an outstanding lineup of plenary sessions, workshops, and Refresher Courses. I hope you will make plans today to come to Boston in September 2018.

The Congress program will address the latest research advances and clinical insights for the field of pain study and treatment. Our speakers have deep expertise in their fields and are highly skilled presenters. I am confident that the meeting will stimulate and inspire you and that you will gain new, valuable knowledge.

The World Congress is a major way IASP achieves its mission of bringing together scientists, health-care providers, and policymakers to stimulate and support the study of pain and translate the knowledge generated by research into improved pain relief worldwide. We design the Congress to expand your opportunities to learn from and network with the world’s top scientists, clinicians, and others from many areas of pain research and treatment.

You will not want to miss this opportunity to come to Boston, especially in late September. One of America’s great cities, Boston has much to attract all IASP members and other visitors. With a rich history and vibrant culture, Boston offers world-class museums, restaurants, and cultural and sporting events. Whether you favor the mountains or the shore, the city is close to many recreational areas for those planning to combine a vacation with the Congress. Everyone loves Boston!

Our goal is to make this the best Congress ever and the best pain meeting in the world. I look forward to seeing you there!
