The #EFICOnTheMove (OTM) campaign was launched by former EFIC President Bart Morlion to promote physical activity as a preventive and therapeutic tool against chronic pain.

Physical activity’s well-known health benefits include a reduced risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and improved mental health. What is less well-known is that greater levels of physical activity and exercise are also associated with a lower risk of developing chronic pain. Chronic pain is defined as pain on a daily basis for 12 weeks. It is a significant health issue affecting between 12-30% Europeans.

As this is an ongoing and long-term issue, we want to introduce new On The Move projects and activities in the future. We are excited to announce that a new working group led by Henrik Bjarke Vægter has been appointed and a new set of goals and objectives have been decided.

EFIC-Grünenthal-Grant (E-G-G) to program grantów badawczych przyznawany przez Europejską Federację Bólu EFIC i hojnie sponsorowany przez firmę farmaceutyczną Grünenthal GmbH. Od 2004 r. zapewnił finansowanie o wartości około 1,8 mln euro na 70 innowacyjnych projektów badawczych w 14 krajach. Grünenthal wspiera E-G-G 2023 maksymalnie 110 000 euro, a maksymalna wartość każdej dotacji wyniesie 50 000 euro. Granty badawcze przeznaczone są na kliniczne i eksperymentalne badania bólu na ludziach, w tym innowacyjne inicjatywy edukacyjne mające na celu poprawę diagnostyki i leczenia bólu. Propozycje badań na zwierzętach, symulacje komputerowe, linie komórkowe itp. nie będą brane pod uwagę. Decyzja o przyznaniu grantów podejmowana jest niezależnie przez podgrupę Komitetu Badawczego Europejskiej Federacji Bólu EFIC.^®®
