Współzesne wyzwania etyki medycznej
Konferencja jest poświęcona współczesnym wyzwaniom etyki medycznej wynikającym z postępów nauki, rozwoju technologii oraz trendów światopoglądowych na świecie. Jej celem jest zwiększenie świadomości tych wyzwań wśród pracowników medycznych i studentów medycyny oraz kształtowanie postaw etycznych, empatii i wrażliwości na człowieka chorego i na wartość ludzkiego życia. Did you know that chronic pain affects nearly 150 million people in Europe? To address this challenge, the European Pain Federation EFIC established the European Day on Pain Awareness in 2024. From now on, it is observed every year on the third Wednesday of October.
This year, on 15 October 2025, the theme is:
Preventive Healthcare for Chronic Pain
This theme reflects the importance of prevention in reducing the burden of chronic pain and aligns with EU health policy priorities.

The European Pain Federation is organising a virtual Examination for Part 1 of the European Diploma in Pain Medicine (EDPM) again in 2023. The virtual examinations will be held using the EFIC Academy Education Platform. All registered participants will be provided access to the platform for the period of the examination. EFIC will provide guidance to first-time users of the platform.
The next virtual sitting of Part 1 will take place on Friday, 17 November 2023. Registration is now open!

What are the European Pain Federation EFIC® Pain Schools?
The Pain Schools are courses aimed at young (preferably under 45 years) European medical doctors and allied health professionals who are interested in further developing their knowledge and expertise in the field of pain management. The courses run for 4-5 days and include an evidence-based approach to the assessment, diagnosis and comprehensive management of patients with chronic pain. To be eligible to apply for a grant to attend a Pain School you need to be an European Pain Federation EFIC® Chapter Member.
